Why does IMVU have schools?
There are different reasons why there are schools on IMVU. One of those reasons is to make our VU lives a little easier and convenient. Online schools have become more, and more personal for its students. Some say that taking an online course is more effective, versus going in person. In this case, you’re not burning gas, having to travel to be on time for classes. And everything is done online, with a teacher. It’s also reaching out to the masses of people who are unable to participate, making it more convenient for its computer users. Usually, students who attend college/universities are shaping their future, or simply going into college to study for that said field they want a job in.
When I asked the community on what they thought the reason was, one had this to say, “IMVU has colleges to give another depth to roleplay for those that are into it.” Another said, “Fun; enjoyment; personal fulfillment; relaxation; entertainment; and more…” I also head from one, “Roleplay, its rampant for the site.” Another said, “Others use them to actually teach people to do things, such as create.” Someone else said, “They are mostly instilled for roleplay purposes, like anything else on IMVU. This isn’t just a way to ‘please roleplay desires’ but it also provides students with genuine education and knowledge, that is applicable to someone’s real life.”
I think the reason why IMVU has so many colleges and universities is to make it more sociable and realistic for its users. While some of them are there for roleplaying, others have them just to have a classroom that looks like a school where people are able to come in or out. Then, the users themselves take on the roleplay, pretending to be the teacher or teachers at the school. It’s a good idea to have colleges on here, especially if the creators themselves present the idea and making it known to its users, while simultaneously taking it seriously and legitimately announcing it’s opening to the students who wish to attend. I believe the whole purpose of having schools is to teach the students the materials they need to know. So, when they graduate from college, they’ll be able to use the knowledge that they have obtained over the course of time and what they know out and into the world.
