Drake Vs Eminem: Who Ya Got!

So, apparently, there is a rumor about Drake and Eminem going up against each in a rap battle that is spreading like wildfire! But...is it true? When word of this epic battle began to spread around, I chose not to hop on the bandwagon but, instead, chose to wait for more updates before believing it. And, wouldn’t you know it, after people began raising questions about its validity, a lot of snooping, fact gathering, and blog lurking confirmed that this impending rap battle was all a big HOAX!

How did it start, though? Ebro, the host of the radio station Hot 97, was on the air one day and recited a conversation that he held with Drake.

“I [Ebro] told Drake that I heard the rumor that Eminem was going to gear up to come after him because of the ongoing beef he had with his artist, Joe Budden,”

“Drake laughed. He was like, ‘That’s not gonna happen. He’d never do that. And, if he did, I got something for him, too.’”

Once listeners heard this, the internet lit up and what was supposed to be taken as a joke turned into a fake beef between the two rappers. Representatives for both Eminem and Drake quickly rejected the idea of a rap battle and brushed the rumors off as blogs having a “slow news day.”

Who is Drake REALLY beefing with? According to sources, the Canadian born rapper hasn’t been getting along too well with reality tv star and rapper, Joe Budden. The two artists have been feuding for quite some time and a few of Drake’s hardcore fans even went as far as to show up at Joe Budden’s house to show support for their favorite rapper, which didn’t go over too well. In addition to the beef with Joe Budden, Drake even sparked something with Jay-Z, comparing himself to the legendary artist in his song “Summer Sixteen.” Of course, Jay-Z responded with his own track labeled “I Got The Keys”, featuring Future and DJ Khaled. Personally, I would not consider that much of a beef since Drake has yet to address that but I will keep my eye out on that.

I would, however, consider the ongoing feud between Drake and Funkmaster Flex very real. The Hot 97 DJ has, allegedly, had it out for Drake since day 1 and has been somewhat encouraging the fake beef between Drake and Eminem, trying to prove that the rapper/singer didn’t write his own lyrics. Due to Funkmaster Flex’s behavior, Drake publicly announced that he would not return to Hot 97 until the DJ was fired, immediately letting it be known that the DJ’s antics got under the rapper’s skin but, recently, Drake brought Eminem out on stage during one of his shows in Detroit to perform “Forever”, proving that there was, in fact, no beef between the two.

Situations like this are not uncommon in our society today. Internet bloggers along with the media can take one little mishap and expand it into something that has everyone talking just to sell a story but, it just goes to show you that you can’t believe everything that you hear. Do your own research and find out the truth before jumping on the bandwagon because, as far as this beef is concerned, it has been put out to pasture.
