The Dancing Diamonds: ShuntiVelli

The Dancing Diamonds is a kids’ IMVU dance team for young girls who enjoy dancing, competing, and fun. It was founded by ShuntiVelli@IMVU in August of 2015. After her daughter, Genesis, had been a part of a few failed cheerleading and dance teams, Shunti decided to create their own dance team. Genesis used to be the captain but she is now assisting with ideas and maintaining a close relationship with the girls. While Shunti is usually the mastermind behind the dance routines, she is also very open to the ideas of the girls on the team. With a huge group of 18 girls, Shunti cherishes the individual time she’s able to spend with each of the girls. They’re able to communicate through inbox and their group kik when it comes to reminders of competitions, events, and practice dates. She was however bothered by seeing other groups that didn’t last long, weren’t fun, or were filled with drama so her main goal is to create a totally opposite atmosphere for the girls. She maintains this by always doing something new and different, never being stuck on one category, and making sure she is not running the team as a dictatorship.

“I let the girls have some say so too, it’s not just me calling the shot.”

As with any other team or group on IMVU, they do run into drama with other organizations and teams. However, they ignore it and keep pushing forward, allowing that drama to bring them closer to each other. Shunti unfortunately states that due to a show coming up, they are not currently recruiting. She did, however, let us know what she’s looking for in future Dancing Diamonds. She stated...

“You have to be able to be online often, afford the dances, and be a team sport. We do not tolerate attitudes and mood swings and nobody is better than the next person.”

The Dancing Diamonds hold at least two competitions every two weeks and after being active for nearly a year, it is no secret that they are here to stay.
