LibidoScarlett: "Once Upon A Princess" Fashion Show.

This is Scarlett.

Love, Life and Friendship. Creating, Modeling and Developing.

In the fast-growing world of IMVU, having different skills and talents puts you on the fast track to success and popularity. Developers, creators, editors, and models set the fashion statement of the community and their versatility determines the evolving trends and events that are often seen throughout. One charismatic and fairly new face to the fashion scene offers an exciting triple threat. LibidoScarlett, named Scarlett, is a fairly new creator, model, and editor and has no issue getting her feet wet in all three worlds. She sat with Verve X Magazine to talk fashion, modeling, and her new fashion show, “Once Upon a Princess”.

Fresh On The Runway

Scarlett spent three years on IMVU before entering into the modeling world just two years ago. Like most other IMVU’ers, she came to the site to pass time and get a distraction from real life. She started out hanging with friends to pass time online but she wanted to find a way to keep busy, “That’s when my friend FrankieDelRey introduced me to modeling,” She fell in love with his work and asked him how she could possibly get started. Since her runway debut, Scarlett has competed five competitions: The Walk by MAC, Model Slayhem, Model Land by MAC, VITAL, and currently, Miss MAC. “...it isn’t just about modeling products, making ads, runways and fame,” Scarlett explained, “...I have always had a passion for creating mini stories within my edits.”

Creations and Editions

Before IMVU, Scarlett would edit photo sketches that deviant.art artists would post. Once she began modeling, she used these skills to edit her pictures. Constructive criticism from the judges and fellow editors has helped her become more and more proficient. Even though she has a lot to learn, her sturdy support system has always helped, “Also, Youtube can be your bff when it comes to editing.”

In her modeling competitions, Scarlet was often faced with a challenge where the models could not edit their pictures. The passion for creating came from not being able to find a certain type or color of makeup or shoe in shop. However, that was not enough to get her jumpstart. While competing in Model Slayhem, Scarlett met seasoned creators Kartierre and Lavere (owners of Fiori), and DancingElk. She watched as they would create their own items for the challenges and she found their dedication fascinating, “So I told myself...well I have to give it a shot.” That’s when she decided to try to create her own outfit for the finale, something those creators did. Since then, they have assisted her with advice and motivation, often encouraging her to step out of her comfort zone.

A Royal Event

From June 30th to July 1st, Scarlett will be hosting a fashion show called “Once Upon a Princess”. This show is to highlight her new clothing line which features a modern twist on Disney Princess clothing. “Instead of ball gowns,” Scarlett describes, “they will be wearing more modern outfits while still keeping them true to who they are.” The show is inspired by known artist Armand Mehidri’s Disney princess sketches. With 14 princesses, over 50 items created, from shoes, to clothing, to clutches. Though it seems like the event of anyone’s dreams, the process to making this event a success was a particularly tough one.

A Rocky Road

It took six months to make her first fashion show happen. Six months of planning, six months of creating, but most importantly, six months of support and motivation. Most of the time was spent creating, often being hard on herself while her friends offered words of perseverance. There was one friend in particular that kept her going when she was feeling down, “He believed so much in me that any time we got on to hang out, he would tell me to go work on the items. He would just sit there with me while I worked and let me complain about something not coming out the way I wanted.” Scarlett’s support system, consisting of him, Jen, Lavere, Kat, and Aven, who would always ask her how the show was coming along and who helped her when she was stuck on an edit or design. Her hunger for success and the satisfaction of completing her goals is what kept her going during the hardest times.

Love, Life, and Advice

Scarlett lovingly describes herself as charismatic, loyal, and down-to-earth. Though she isn’t currently officially in a relationship, she does have her eye on someone special. Being more keen on long-term relationships, Scarlett is very patient when it comes to establishing an official title, “I prefer to build a strong bond first with the person.” With editing, creating, and modeling, it is hard to imagine her having any time for herself, let alone someone else. In order to not overburden herself, Scarlett tends to do a little of everything, just enough so that her load isn’t too heavy. When she isn’t juggling personal life and fashion, she’s hanging out with friends, trying to attend events in support, meeting new people, and shopping. Scarlett knows that there are others who look up to her, and to them, she offers words of encouragement...

“Believe in yourself, even when and if others don’t. Set your standards high and when you think you can’t get there, look back and see how far you’ve already gotten and think about how hard you tried to get there. Know that that it’s an accomplishment in itself. We are all different, we all take different amount of time getting something done or learning something, but it doesn’t mean we can’t. Please be kind to each other, and reach out to others that you see going through something you went through when you were there. Stay humble no matter how far you get. Continue giving back to people like others gave to you. Because we are all as amazing as the next person."
