Q&A With the Founders of P.O.P. & T.U.X.
This month’s Greek Section features an interview with the Founders of the newly established Greek organizations Psi Omega Pi (POP) and Tau Upsilon Xi (TUX). In this interview we explore the nitty-gritty details for them starting up their own organizations as well as exploring their visions and values. As they say “POP & TUX Forever”. Verve X Magazine was happy and pleased to have a moment to sit down with the upcoming greek organizations POP and TUX as the first Greek Feature.

I’m great, thanks. Can you all introduce yourselves?
Yearly: I’m Nubia, Sr. Queen Enticing - Founder of Psi Omega Pi Mural: im Angel-Sr.Queen Daring-Founder of Psi Omega Pi Rawest: I'm Jas aka Sr King blessed.
Nice, and how were those names chosen?
Mural: I chose Daring because I felt like it fits my personality which is adventurous and audaciously bold. Rawest: I chose blessed because im blessed to even be here and blessed to be doing this with the people I adore the most :D Yearly: I chose Enticing because I wanted a name with confidence & that meant attractive :D & that word is sexaaay to me ^^
What made you choose ‘King’ and ‘Queen’ for the line names?
Rawest: kings because we’re the highest of the throne which means we have more power pretty much Mural: I personally feel like all women are Queens, we didn’t want to use Big sisters because it just didn’t represent us as much and it was overrated ^_^ our mascot was a GOD and we wanted to own up to it Yearly: Welllll every woman should feel like a Queen, we are strong individuals & we have strong morals & values. We show love , support, kindness & care. That’s exactly what a Queen is to me. & a Queen never steps down from her throne due to negativity & hate.
King Blessed, im sure you are aware that there are other fraternities that call themselves King - so what makes TUX the highest of the throne?
Rawest: the other frats that call themselves kings are pretty much the same not to down any other frat and TUX we’re different.
When and why were these Greek organizations founded?
Yearly: POP & TUX was founded December 7th , 2015. We wanted to make organizations that fit our personalities also to share our enjoyment of having the best times with people we love with the imvu community. Our main focus is to reach out & bond with new people.
What made you create your own when you were already part of one?
Rawest: I wanted to boss myself around. :D
Mural: we felt like it was time for a change and wanted to do our own thing Yearly: Well for me, I like to do what I want & what I think is best for not only me but my sisterhood as well. It kinda got old asking for what I want. Why ask when I can just create something I want & believe in and if anyone knows me they know I have no problem with doing things myself.
What do you believe a sorority should be about?
Yearly: I believe a sisterhood, sorority should be a peaceful place. Positive vibes, love, care. Beauty should be noticed within it shouldn’t be how someone’s dressed or how well their make up is.
Looking at the amount of Greek organizations there are today, it seems new ones are being made daily - how will you guarantee its’ survival in the IMVU community?
Yearly: Drive. If you’re not driven, stop driving. We put a lot of work into what we have now & there’s no way it will stop. We’ve spent hours & days planning and throwing new ideas in. We already have everything planned through Jan-Feb. We want to be consistent & organized. & We will be. Rawest: Unlike other newer frats i feel like they were being rushed to start their pledging and running lines like crazy that is one thing TUX will not be is rushing so therefore i feel like since we aren’t we should stay in the imvu community for a long time Mural: we didn’t want to just make an Org just because we were bored,we wanted to make people feel welcome and take our time to grow into something more then just colors and crest.
New organizations tend to have bad apples (cliché). What are some things that will not be tolerated within the organizations?
Rawest: dating fellow sisters / brothers :) Mural: less drama hopefully. Rawest: disrespect Yearly: Unloyalty ... basically.
King Blessed you mention dating fellow sisters and brothers as being forbidden - but aren’t you dating a POP founder? Wouldn’t that be classed as founders breaching their own rule?
Rawest: nope
Why isn’t that the case?
Rawest: because I see it as if you’re coming in married or whatever you are and your spouse wants to join then thats okay but if your single and you decide to date someone in POP or vice versa then thats when it’ll cause a problem. Mural: we created POP and TUX so our rules apply to us as well because if you didn’t come in as a couple then you are not allowed to date someone in your brotherhood.
So if you meet the love of your life in TUX, it’s bad luck?
Yearly: LOL. I will keep everything professional with my brothers period point blank. Mural: right
What do you see for the future of POP and TUX?
Mural: i see an amazing future for POP and TUX especially creating it with your family you have a different kind of bond and better communication. Rawest: I see us going far and achieving the most that we can and that i feel no other fraternity has made it far without having to revamp or change up their stuff also growing together as brothers and sisters. Yearly: I honestly hope to see great change to the Greek community , more of a bond with other Greeks all positive interactions , treating eachother with respect cause we’re all in for sister & brother love we should be able to communicate.
Are there any greek organizations that POP and TUX will not work with?
Rawest: no comment. Mural: no we have no bad blood with anyone we’re running our Org just like everyone else if not better. Yearly: I think that depends on what kind of feedback we get from the Greek community. Not everyone will be happy. For us this is a fresh start so it’s pretty much up to everyone else. Rawest: I mean I hope TUX can work with other fraternities maybe a sorority but some people hold grudges, shrugs
Some preach so much about unity but it’s the ones that preach the loudest that’s the least about it. What’s your thoughts on that?
How were the colors chosen and why?
Yearly: Okay so we have been through many colors ..... tbh xD Mural: we wanted something nobody else had or even thought about..so sexy. Rawest: For TUX our colors were chosen based on the meaning and how we thought that it would benefit TUX in the long run Yearly: For POP for instance, we had like the neon vibe at first. We looked like highlighters lmfaoo. But the colors we have now were chosen due to their meaning as well & our principle growth reminds of the earthy vibe. Mural: lawd i remember our neon colors.
How were the mascots chosen and why?
Rawest: Our mascot the cerberus, was chosen because they’re big 3 headed dogs that are strong and powerful also they protect. Yearly: Medusa was strong & she represents the various patterns of a woman’s emotional pattern. She’s also a symbol of feminism.
When does pledging begin?
Mural: recruiting starts January 6th :] Yearly: Pledging starts Jan 25th :D woo . Rawest: for our first line TUX & POP are doing it together :D
A little bird also told me you have an upcoming launch celebration? Tell us more.
Yearly: Sooooo the launch celebration is basically us introducing ourselves to the Greek community, our official opening. Yearly: We will also have a special opening perfomance by Pearls of Perfection that started during the summer of this year.
What can one expect from the pledging process?
Rawest: lots of work & getting to know yourself a lot Mural: becoming the Queen and Kings they are meant to be Yearly: I would say it would feel like a personal growth process & finding a new light & for POP finding what your purpose is.
Before we wrap up, any last words or comments from any of you? Anything you want our readers to know?
Rawest: I would love to see any interested males, studs come through and join TUX it’ll be an great experience Yearly: POP would loveeee to meet you, we come with open arms.
