What made you want to start an organization?

Jendio: I was pretty on and off of IMVU for a long time because I just didn’t see the point anymore. Once Instagram came out so did expose pages and burn books, and all of the groups I were part off had withered away slowly. Then the only crews that I’ve seen around were like just for creators and repaints. I did my best to try and scope around and join something that might interest me, for example, a brotherhood but that along with everything else was just filled and circling around competitive drama. It kinda gave me a blueprint of what I didn’t want.

How did you come up with the name Xposure?

Uniquee: Tyler, myself and the co-founder Chante were all having a meeting talking about the vision that originally Tyler had come to me about, and we built on too. During that meeting, we were throwing out names and Xposure came up and at that moment we knew Xposure was a perfect name for us and it has been just that.

Do you think you’ve achieved that?

Jendio: Xposure to me has reached beyond the goals I've set for it, which tbh wasn't much. I just wanted something chill and laid-back but it grew beyond that and the feedback that we've gotten from the members and the people we worked with deff makes me feel like I've achieved it.I just want to keep growing from here.

How exactly has xposure surpassed the initial goal?

Jendio: Well our initial goals was just to create some long-lasting friendships and help each other achieve our own personal goals, and it has gone beyond that because now we have members actually stepping out of their comfort zone to create new friendships, friendships so strong that some of the members are actually meeting up in real to grow their friendships. We all talk every single day from morning to night, I have to mute my kik. They, of course, have their individual personal goals for their own organizations, new and old. They have shared gratitude and also awards with us for helping them reach their goals, and for promoting them and that is what it is all about.

What org are you referring to?

Jendio: LNR for one; they've shown so much gratitude and have sent me some of the sweetest messages along with an award for all the support we've given them, even though it's not like they need any. They've been around for 5 years and have really set a name for themselves, so I was honored that they appreciated us and was really happy for Xposure. Another example would be some of our newest ones like DPZ and BAE. They are so appreciative of the work we do, when they first started we reached out to them, pretty much motivated them through the entire process, helped them with flyers, etc and they've really shown the love back. Also, all the organizations we wear on our org jackets have shown us gratitude and appreciation. Whenever I need help or I'm doubting myself in any way those organizations have stepped up and reached out a hand in return.

Is Xposure focused on the Greek community of IMVU?

Jendio: No not really. Xposure focuses mainly on anti-cyberbullying. We started off with a promise of helping each member achieve their personal goals and support their organizations so, along the way, a lot of our members joined Greeks or were already in them when they joined so we kept our word with that in promoting them. None of the founders of Xposure are in any Greeks so we can't really relate but we do our best to help out and make things easier for them. We also help the members with their modeling agencies, campaigns, etc.

Is it a misunderstanding that Xposure is, "Just like a Greek org"?

Jendio: I don't know. There was definitely some doubt and some hate at first, but that's going to come because I'm sure these organizations have seen organizations "like mine," who have come around claiming unity and something drama-free. Those ones have either withered away or have done the opposite and nothing positive. It’s when you see all the Greek members that join, it gets that assumption because it's associated so heavily with Greek members.

How do you achieve being drama-free, while promoting unity?

Jendio: To keep it drama free there has to be boundaries, within the organization and outside. We have a set list of rules that we can't break, for example responding to drama, or to anyone that targets us, would break that. We have to have that kind of restraint if we don't want to lose our purpose and our message. The collab events are really what helps the unity part; it's why we did it. Having them all work together helps the chemistry inside of Xposure and helps our image for those outside looking in. Unity is said and done are two different things.

How do you achieve the positivity?

Jendio: Positivity is where we set our focus on the campaigns, like the anti-cyberbullying campaign, just trying to spread awareness that just because you say it online doesn't take away the effect. We feel like people on IMVU sometimes forget that and lose that along the way. Byron, a member of both of organizations came up with a campaign that we heavily support that deals with sexual assault victims and kinda gives people the room to talk about it and spreads awareness. Just bringing that positive light and the welcoming community back to IMVU.

Uniquee: I would like to add that positivity is an effort we all have to put in meaning, we are all human and with being human comes emotions ya know? So we all have to make an effort to not only not engage in things like bullying or negativity but also a big part is remembering that we all have our bad days, and to know that sometimes people just need us to be there.

How do you make sure that your members stay active?

Uniquee: For the most part, people are excited to bond; members hang out with other members and check in on each other.

Jendio: With us kik-ing every day and being online every day, hosting streams and having monthly dues, we take notice of members who are absent, who haven't been paying monthly dues and missing bonding events. We reach out at first and if we still don't get a response or their interest is lost we remove them during cleaning.

Uniquee: There is a lot of effort that goes into everything we do besides when we're just kicking it. So a lot goes into events, collabs, streams, and members participate in the process. I would say that people love what Xposure has to offer; the environment we have to offer sells itself.

Are there any future plans you wish to share with us?

Jendio: By next year January we hope to have Xposure Jr's officially set up and launched with its own officials, gear and separate members from Xposure intl. We are also 70 followers from hitting 1K followers so we hope to hit that milestone pretty soon so we can celebrate and thank everyone who has helped us get that far.
