Glam-Goth: Xiah
In a trendy world, it is quite refreshing to come across new, innovative minds who aren’t afraid to add a little glam where it was hardly seen before. Since her debut about 3 years ago, Xiah surely hasn’t let any of her customers down. Known to her friends as “Lilo”, this pro-creator marks her style as “Glam-Goth.” “I’m all for girly fashion,” Xiah says, “but at the same time, I like my dark and daring attire.” Lilo has been delivering her creativity through her daring styles and glamorous dark attire for quite some time. However, underneath her pro-status, Lilo describes herself as fun, friendly, and very down to earth.
The Beginning: Before creating, Lilo spent most of her time modeling, taking pictures, and shopping. It wasn’t until a few friends finally convinced her to put her creativity to use that she began creating. After some convincing, she finally opened that creator tab and, as the famous saying goes, the rest is history. Though she took a little break, Lilo was always certain she’d return. When she returned, she began expanding her catalog with pose packs and avatars, with the intent, as stated, “to try to keep my catalog fresh and unique.”
Inspiration: Lilo tries to stay away from creating trendy fashion. “...it’s less likely that your product will stand out,” Lilo says. Which is hard not to agree with, trends tend to repeat themselves. Instead, Lilo simply creates things she would wear in the real world. With the IMVU fashion world forever evolving and progressing, Lilo is excited about experimenting with new textures and styles. “I’m going to start playing around with different textures now,” says Lilo, “sequins, satin, net, etc. Just to add some flare to my catalog.”
Conclusion: Upon her return from her break, Lilo has described the response and feedback as shockingly better. “I didn’t know that many people looked forward to my shop or products,” she says. It is definitely no secret that Xiah’s daring style and creativity has brought her a long way, especially with being part of the popular dev group, The Crew. If she’s not creating, Lilo spends her time chilling with family and friends, catching up on American Horror Story, working in Photoshop, and eating oreos.
